Lithuanian Nuclear Energy Association together with Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (VGTU) and Latvian Development and Innovation Training Center is organizing the conference "Perspectives of nuclear energy development".
Speakers from leading countries of the nuclear energy sector like USA, Canada, UK, France will share the news about nuclear energy programs, ongoing and planned projects and latest technologies. Members of the government and parliament, energy experts and other decision makers will be attending the event. We expect interesting presentations and discussions on the said subjects raising general public awareness about the latest news in the sector.

Kalev Kallemets
Ph.D. in energy economics, co-founder and CEO of Fermi Energia.
He has been working in private and public sector in Estonian private energy company, Ministry of Economic Affairs as deputy director of Geological Survey of Estonia and as Member of Parliament of Estonia. Is author of several publications regarding to energy production and economy.
Paweł Gajda
Ph.D. in Nuclear Engineering, M.Ing. in Advanced Energy Technologies, Director of the Nuclear Energy Department in Polish Ministry of Industry
Paweł Gajda is a recognized expert in the field of nuclear energy, a lecturer at the AGH University of Science and Technology in Kraków, vice president of the European Nuclear Society and president of the Polish Nuclear Society.
Scientifically, he focuses on reactor physics, new generation reactor technologies, and the role of nuclear energy in low-emission energy systems. He is a board member of the Sustainable Energy Institute foundation, within which he leads projects related to education and popularization of knowledge, including a program of energy lessons for schools.
Andris Kulbergs
B. in International Business. Member of the Parliament of Latvia
Andris was Chairman of Environmental, Climate and Energy Subcommittee of the Economic, Agricultural, Environmental and Regional Policy Committee of the Parliament. Before being elected in 2022, Andris was the chairman of the board of SIA "VK Development" and the association "Automotive Association", as well as a member of the Council of Employers' Confederation of Latvia.
Martin Mansfeld
Senior Project Manager, KSU Vattenfall, Sweden
With more than 30 years of experience in the nuclear industry and an extensive background in design, implementation, and oversight of training programs for nuclear power plant personnel.
Experience in the utilization and management of training facilities across a wide range of training environments, including full-scope and partial-scope simulators, classroom-based facilities, on-the-job training settings, and mock-ups of plant systems and control rooms.
Antanas Romas
Lic. Eng. in Nuclear Power Safety, Senior Simulation Specialist, KSU Vattenfall, Sweden
Antanas is a senior Nuclear and Simulation Engineer with more than 25 years of experience in the nuclear industry. His expertise includes nuclear reactor modeling for the Swedish full-scope simulator fleet and international simulator projects, severe accident modeling, reactor safety, model-based analysis of complex technical systems, and advanced technical training.
A former researcher at KTH, he has held specialist roles at GSE Systems, LearningWell, and ES-konsult, and has contributed to full-scope simulator development and technical training in Sweden and internationally. He is also the founder of Antranova Engineering AB, providing engineering analysis and model-based decision support.
Kristjan Mihhels
MSc in Industrial Engineering & Management, BSc in Engineering. Business Development & Strategy analyst at Steady Energy, Finnland
Kristjan works in business development of energy and space technology sectors at Aurora Propulsion Technologies and Steady Energy. He focuses on energy systems and nuclear energy applications. His master's thesis examined use of small modular reactors in district heating.
Stefano Monti
Ph.D. in Nuclear Engineering, President of the Italian Nuclear Association, Director of Research at ENEA
Stefano is President of the Italian Nuclear Association and Director of Research at ENEA, the Italian National Agency for New Technologies, Energy and Sustainable Economic Development.
He previously served as Head of the Nuclear Power Technology Development Section at the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and has held leadership roles at European Nuclear Society (ENEA), SIET, and the Italian Institute for Nuclear Physics (INFN).
He participates in multiple international nuclear committees, including the OECD Nuclear Energy Agency, the European Sustainable Nuclear Energy Technology Platform (SNETP), and the IAEA Technical Working Group on Fast Reactors.
Algirdas Kaliatka
Dr. Habil., PhD in Thermal Physics, Professor at Kaunas University of Technology, Chief Researcher at Lithuanian Energy Institute
Algirdas Kaliatka is Chief Researcher and Deputy Head of the Laboratory of Nuclear Installation Safety at the Lithuanian Energy Institute, and Professor at Kaunas University of Technology.
Algirdas has worked at the institute since 1984. His work focuses on nuclear installation safety and accident analysis in nuclear power plants, with over 20 years of experience in licensing projects and more than 10 years in national and international nuclear safety projects. He has authored more than 100 scientific publications and co-authored three monographs.

Osvaldas Ciuksys
Osvaldas serves as President of the Lithuanian Nuclear Energy Association, leading a non-governmental organization that unites professionals and companies from the Lithuanian nuclear sector.
Has over 15 years of experience in the nuclear industry, working on engineering, operation, maintenance, and management of nuclear power plants and nuclear installations. His work includes the development and delivery of complex technical solutions, with a focus on small modular reactors (SMR).
His work focuses on the role of nuclear energy in clean energy systems, innovation, and sustainability.
